What better way to get ourselves in the holiday spirit than to have a party?! Kate Martin with Beautiful Days worked her magic yet again to bring some holiday cheer into the studio. It was so nice to see familiar faces of family and friends alike. With sweet treats, hot beverages, and a fun festive Photo Booth it sure was a good time had by all. Thank you again to all who came to make that evening a blast. We wish all of you best wishes in your holiday season and a happy New Year! We will see you all next year when we open our office back up on Monday January 5th 2015!
It’s not everyday that you get to photograph a wedding in a green house. But engaged couples should take notice! This intimate celebration couldn’t have been cozier, nestled in the green house at Pumpkin Pond Farm on Nantucket. Tory and Chris took a fresh approach to their wedding day and focused on top notch food, hand picked wine and filled the space with close family and friends. Chef Brie prepared course after course of amazing dishes (inspired by some of the couples favorites from local restaurants) and capped it off with a family style serving of fall classics. She even utilized the fresh herbs found on the farm for her dishes! They got serious about the cocktail menu too with featured drinks from their island favorites Dune and Lola 41, as well as an aged barrel of Negroni’s that they made with the groomsmen a few month before the wedding! What an experience for their guests!
I was really excited to photograph Melanie & Derek’s wedding at the Mountain House in Newry. Not only was the location spectacular, but the DIY design elements were amazing as well. Melanie and her mom put a lot of thought and time into the concept and décor. Handmade wooden flower boxes and mini terrariums decorated the tables as centerpieces. Guests found their tables with individual potted succulent plants that they could also take home with them. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect with Sunday River Mountain in the backdrop and a covered bridge down the road. I know that Melanie and Derek had been looking forward to this day for a long time, and it was most definitely worth the wait!
I have been looking forward to Lauren and Cory’s Nantucket wedding for months! I was able to meet them about a year ago at Lauren’s family home in Maine for an engagement session with their super star dog Fletcher. Having a Maine-Nantucket connection with these two and their families I just KNEW this was going to be a great group and an unforgettable event.
It was a long time coming for Ashley and Brian’s New Hampshire wedding. They met in dance class when they were five and finally tied the knot on the grounds of a beautiful lake house on Winnipesaukee. Due to the weather, as we all know Mother Nature does not always cooperate, they held the ceremony and reception in the beautifully decorated tent. The rain, however, did not dampen this couples’ spirits as they danced the night way with close friends and family.
What a magical day for Kim & Tim’s wedding at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine. The forecast called for showers at the time of the ceremony but Kim & Tim remained hopeful that they would have their ceremony outside. With the power of a couple in love, the skies parted and the sun beamed down for a beautiful ceremony on lawn of the Colony Hotel. Kim & Tim celebrated with their close friends as the rain held off until the end of the night. You can’t get much luckier than that!
We couldn’t be more excited for Holly and Beau and their spectacular York, Maine wedding day. It really couldn’t have been anymore beautiful as Holly walked across the lawn with her Dad to see her soon to be husband for the first time. Everyone was smiling ear to ear as they were pronounced husband and wife. We took full advantage of the picturesque location for some fun portraits of the newlyweds around York and then joined guests inside at the Meeting House for dinner and dancing. Cheers to Holly and Beau!
Rebecca and Ben were married in the back yard of Rebecca’s family home in Andover, MA. Upon arrival at the property we quickly realized just why it was so special for Rebecca to celebrate here with their family and friends. The home is filled with memories for her and what a way to build more! We took photos on the front steps of the house with all her brothers and sisters as they did when they were children and her Dad even made his famous margaritas for guests. Laughter, tears and cheers were heard at every turn at their intimate celebration. These two truly celebrated in a way that was authentic to them and I felt like I was with long time friends all day! Cheers to Rebecca and Ben!!!!
There is nothing like a backyard wedding on the coast of Maine! Samantha & Tony were married in Tony’s parents’ backyard which is located in very picturesque Spruce Head. The reception included a traditional lobster bake and not to be missed award winning blueberry pie by Cathy Feener. While enjoying the view, guests played lawn games and enjoyed craft beer out of Tony’s homemade beer bar. Samantha and Tony surely know how to treat their guests to the best of what the State has to offer!
When you meet Alexa and Sean you just can’t help but smile. They are just all about laughter, fun and family and their wedding day was filled with it! We took advantage of the stunning apple orchard at Clarks Cove Farm for their first look. The tears of joy and excitement quickly made way for laugher and hugs. Which was certainly the trend for the day! I don’t think there was a dry eye or anything other than a smile seen as Alexa’s daughter and Sean’s son walked down the aisle tossing flowers and joining their parents on the garden alter for their vows.
