Hey all, Jordan here! Last month I had the pleasure of photographing the crew of Earth as they returned to Flanagan’s Table in Buxton, ME to once again wow guests with a delicious five course meal. Flanagan’s Table is a monthly dinner series with a different Maine chef in rotation each month. Diners experience a meal prepped with the best fresh local ingredients, native wine and beer selections, and in addition have a portion of what they spent on their ticket donated to sustaining local farming and agriculture in Maine. I had heard wonderful things about Chef walker and his team, but being able to photograph their culinary creations and experience the hustle and bustle of the kitchen was an amazing treat! From the flavors to the plating, their dishes were very clearly well thought out and executed to perfection for the 40 plus diners. My favorite part of photographing the dinner had to have been seeing all the hard work first hand in the kitchen with Chef Walker and his crew and then moving out into the dining area to see the pure enjoyment of diners as they take their first bites of what is sure to be one of the best meals they’ve ever had. The winter storm that day surely did not stop guests from venturing out to enjoy the meal they’d been waiting months for and the staff at Flanagan’s Table and Earth made it totally worth the trip!
What better way to get ourselves in the holiday spirit than to have a party?! Kate Martin with Beautiful Days worked her magic yet again to bring some holiday cheer into the studio. It was so nice to see familiar faces of family and friends alike. With sweet treats, hot beverages, and a fun festive Photo Booth it sure was a good time had by all. Thank you again to all who came to make that evening a blast. We wish all of you best wishes in your holiday season and a happy New Year! We will see you all next year when we open our office back up on Monday January 5th 2015!
What a magical day for Kim & Tim’s wedding at the Colony Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine. The forecast called for showers at the time of the ceremony but Kim & Tim remained hopeful that they would have their ceremony outside. With the power of a couple in love, the skies parted and the sun beamed down for a beautiful ceremony on lawn of the Colony Hotel. Kim & Tim celebrated with their close friends as the rain held off until the end of the night. You can’t get much luckier than that!
Once a month we get to diverge from the wedding and portrait world to photograph the fabulous Flangan’s Table dinners. These dinners are held at the Barn at Flanagan Farm in Buxton, Maine. Set amongst a rural backdrop in a refined 19thcentury barn, guests come to experience an evening of delicious cuisine prepared by local chefs!
We’re always on the look out for great blogs and magazines, especially ones that go hand in hand with our classic photography style… and then we found Classic Bride Blog. Making a grand entrance just as you’ve said “I do” is something most couples think about while planning their wedding, they make good photo ops, everyone is cheering and smiling because they’re ready to celebrate your new union; but have you thought about your exit at the end of the night? Ensuring that the coverage of your wedding photography includes the end of the night is important if you’re planning a fun exit! Sparklers are a great exit option; everyone gets excited, lines up and cheers you on just as they did earlier – what a great way to round out your wedding day! Along with sparkler exits, there are numerous things you could do, but some of our most favorite from the last few years are the boat exits! Sparklers not your style? Perhaps you’re not getting married by the sea? We had a couple this year end the night with a food truck! So fun and so delicious – something that your guests will definitely enjoy!
Here are some of our favorite wedding exits:
Here at the studio, we can’t believe April is more than half way over! This means, we’re closer to summer, weddings and family portraits, but it also means that school’s almost out! We’ve started booking summer senior portrait sessions for Maine and Nantucket, isn’t it time you book yours? Booking us for your senior portrait session is fun and very different than the more traditional and posed options most high schools offer. We love on location photography – the beach, a park, the forest, your favorite place – it’s what makes your portrait your own! We’ve also been pinning some examples of our work on our senior portraits on our Pinterest board and we also have a whole board dedicated to Senior Portrait Style in case you can’t decide what to wear! (It can be tough sometimes!) So if you’ve booked your Nantucket family vacation or your coastal Maine summer vacation, give us a call or drop us a line and let’s schedule your summer senior session!
