Gorgeous two day celebration at The Big House in Kennebunk, with their nearest and dearest for Lindsay and Eric. They were creative in shifting their wedding plans and wow… what a day!
Cheers to Lyssa & Dave! They were married yesterday in the sweetest, intimate, seaside ceremony in Kennebunkport, Maine. While they have moved the “big party” to next year, yesterday felt like it was always meant to be. I feel so lucky that I get to see them again next year! As Lyssa said “two weddings, one husband!” Love it!
What a treat it is to look back on Elissa and Sam’s Kennebunkport, Maine wedding! These two threw such a fun party with lots of laughs and happy tears included! We love when our couples tell us why they decided to get married in Maine. Elissa and Sam spent time in Kennebunkport making memories during their early relationship and they knew they just had to return to exchange their vows and celebrate with their nearest and dearest. We’re so thankful you came back to this special place to celebrate and that you chose us to capture all the fun!
You can hear more from Elissa on her planning process in their feature in Real Maine Weddings magazine!
Year after year it seems Summer comes and goes so quickly! As a Maine wedding photographer I live for the Summer months. The rocky coastline is just a breathtaking backdrop for photos and meeting so many families that hold this place that I call home so close to their hearts is just the best! Megan and Josh got married last August and with the first few snow falls of the season I can’t help but reminisce about this warm, love filled day! The Breakwater Inn was the perfect place to celebrate with the gorgeous view of the river and plenty of space for their beautiful tent…oh! and how about those nearby fireworks at the end of the night?! It doesn’t get much better than this. Although we’re in for a long Winter ahead, I’ll take any chance I can get to bring myself back to these sunshine filled, dreamy days while I wait for next season.

Yay! Let’s talk family group photos! It sure does seem like this is always an area of stress for couples and a concern for the wedding timeline. We know that these photos are so super important to you but we also know that they do not need to be the main focus for your photography. We thought it would be good to share how we approach family photos so our couples and families are never feeling stressed or missing out on the celebration!
Step 1: We communicate with you BEFORE your wedding day! We talk about who your family is (by first name of course), all the different groups we will be photographing and where your photos will take place; minimal walking and a non distracting background in the shade is always our favorite. So on your wedding day, you don’t have to worry or try to remember any of this and we can be super efficient.
Step 2: We have a system. We organize our photo list in advance so there are minimal moving parts. This keeps us all moving quickly and gets everyone off to the celebration quickly. We like to keep our family group portraits to 10 minutes or less. Sounds good right?
Step 3: Keep it simple. Let’s talk about what photos you will actually want. Don’t use that check list you found someplace! Your wedding isn’t a checklist kinda event! Who are your people?! What photos do you want to display in your home or include in your album? Are you (or your parents) sending a holiday card or thank you cards and want a photo? You do not, I repeat, you do not need to do a million different combinations of groups. Let’s focus on what is most important and get to the celebration! Because that right there is where we get to capture all those candid moments and where you get to have a cocktail.
What a dreamy day! Sunshine and ocean breezes for Marissa and Michael’s Kennebunkport, Maine wedding were just what you hope for when planning a tented wedding on the water!
The energy and excitement of this day was felt by all who were in attendance. You can’t help but smile when you are around these two and I am pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the chapel when Marissa walked down the aisle to her soon to be husband. His face said it all! This was a true celebration filled with lots of hugs, laughter, amazing toasts and lots and lots of dancing! Cheers to you Marissa and Michael and may all the days ahead bring you this much joy!
When Megan and Josh scheduled their engagement session for January I was honestly a little worried! The weather had been so darn cold and it’s never a cute look to have red noses and freezing cold smiles. But when the day rolled around we lucked out! Bright sunshine and a mild day met us for a walk around Dock Square in Kennebunkport. We met at the beautiful Kennebunkport Inn for some photos inside and switched to Bean boots for a walk around town. Giant red hearts hung on the buildings as town geared up for Valentine’s Day making for the perfect backdrop for a couple prepping for their wedding day! Josh has a way of making Megan smile with just a silly look or goofy walk bringing out laughter in both of them. Playful and snuggly they made it so easy to capture their connection. I just can’t wait for their Kennebunkport wedding this August!
When chatting with Chuck and Melissa about their wedding day photos we got SUPER excited that they wanted to take full advantage of all the beautiful locations that Hidden Pond has to offer. It’s one of Maine’s most unique wedding venues and one of the many reasons we love photographing there!
These two are just the sweetest. Their smiles tell the whole story. This was a celebration and the warmth, excitement and heartfelt tears kept us smiling all day long. Chuck and Melissa, it was an honor to be there to capture your wedding day! Cheers to the two of you and may all the smiles, hugs and love that surrounded you on this day be felt everyday!
