I have to be honest, Valentine’s Day is one of my most favorite “holidays”. Maybe it’s the cute little notes we share with one another or my memories of living in Portland, Maine and the Valentine’s Bandit leaving his mark everywhere. But really, what’s not to love about celebrating the ones you love!?! So rather than send out our traditional holiday cards, this year we opted for a sweeter option… Valentine’s!!! We want to thank all of you who have chosen us to photograph your love. After all, weddings, e-sessions, family portraits and babies are all about LOVE and we are so lucky to have worked with amazing people who cherish and understand the importance of capturing these special moments in our lives. So, on this Valentine’s Day we want to say we love and appreciate all of you who have been a part of allowing us to do what WE love! XOXO!
Many thanks to Gus & Ruby Letterpress for our custom made Valentine’s!
It’s February and this month is the month of LOVE! So we have decided to dedicate all blog posts this month to all things love…. it’s what we photograph after all! So let’s kick it off where it all begins for us and talk about engagement sessions!
You’ve probably heard this before, but let us say it again; setting up an engagement session is definitely a “do” when you hire your photographer. Here at our studio, we include them for all interested couples, with our packages – for you and for us!
Having an e-session (as we like to call them) helps us get to know you as a couple in front of the camera, it helps with any jitters or shyness you might have and it helps you get to know us. (You’ll see, we’re just a couple of fun-loving New England gals who love a good love story and can’t wait to tell your wedding story.)
Another great reason to get on the e-session bandwagon is for Save the Date cards! Photo Save the Dates are a great way to share the exciting news with your friends and family and it gives you a chance to brag a little – and that’s perfectly okay… you are about to marry the love of your life after all! Our studio is now offering 6 customizable Save the Date cards in two sizes – 4 X 6 and 5 X 7. Turn the card of your choice into a postcard and add a note to your recipients with our different “back” options or keep the backs plain and present them in a fun envelope (we’re partial to the ones with a fun liner – glitter, stripes, metallic…)
Here are our 6 brand-spankin’ new card designs!
On Saturday, February 8th, we will be hosting our popular Camera 101 workshop at our studio in York, Maine! This is perfect for those of you who got that new camera under the Christmas tree this year or made a new year’s resolution to take better pictures of your family and friends. We will go over all those fancy buttons on your camera that look so scary and give you all the tools you need to take great pictures! You don’t have to be a professional photographer to take our workshop so bring your camera and questions and join us on February 8th. Seating is limited, so contact us soon to sign up.
It’s here! It’s time! I am getting married this week! It seems like it snuck right up on me, maybe because I have been a little busy this summer with all our wonderful wedding couples and beach portraits. Or maybe it’s because my amazing team of wedding professionals have it all under control! Might be a little bit of both. Scott is in the throws of the world series and I am feverishly trying to finish up last minute details. BUT, I thought now might be the time to share our engagement session photos on the blog (better late then never!). The fab Heidi took us to the beach, one of our favorite spots, with our other two favorite things. Milo our 1 year old Corgi puppy and Scott’s ’91 VW Vanagon. We kept it real.
I will be out of the office for the next week trying to soak up every last minute of our wedding festivities. Heidi is in the office holding down the fort so please feel free to give her a call or touch base via e-mail with any of your orders, questions or needs.
Officially Summer has ended… BUT! this doesn’t mean that time has run out for family beach portraits! We enjoyed a crisp early evening on the beach with this adorable family just this week. The dunes are beautiful and honestly… some of the best light of the season! This little guy couldn’t help but smile. Can you deal with his adorable little sweater!
Engagement sessions are a great way to get to know my clients so I just love when they carve out a little time to get in front of the camera with me before their wedding day. Even better if it includes the beach, some wine and a couple as fun loving as Jess and Chapin.

Hiring us as your wedding photographer is a big decision. We think it’s so important that you feel comfortable with the wedding photographer you choose to capture these intimate life moments! With work, travel, school and just life in general getting in the way of all of our couples meeting up in person I asked my dear friend and talented colleague Meg Simone to put together a film that would share a bit about our style for those interested in learning more about our work! It’s short and sweet and shows off all the amazing parts of New England that we LOVE to photograph.
