When I arrive at the Newagen Seaside Inn to photograph a wedding I always arrive a few minutes early so I can take a nice walk around the property. It’s one of my most favorite venues! Guests are enjoying cocktails outside on the deck, jumping off the dock into the ocean for a quick dip, walking a trail or riding bikes around the property. It’s truly a treat to see everyone so relaxed and enjoying all that Maine has to offer! When I arrived for Jill and Alex’s wedding and was taking my walk all I could hear was laughter coming from a cottage that overlooked the water. It was Jill and her amazing crew of ladies getting ready for the big day! It echoed over the property and set the tone for the entire day! Their wedding day was a long time coming but it was well worth the wait! A sunshine filled day on the coast of Maine with cocktails, a bonfire, ceremony overlooking the ocean, dancing well past sunset and hugs, cheers and laughter for everyone there. I hope all your days are filled with this much love Jill and Alex! Cheers to you!
First looks are a personal favorite of mine to photograph but when Libby and Brandon said they wanted to see each other before their Prout’s Neck wedding ceremony out on Canon Rock I was instantly trying to figure out how that was all going to come together! Libby has spent her life running the pathway to the rocks and knew the perfect spot… even hopping down a little rock stairway of sorts to get out there. She was so excited to see Brandon when he emerged from the path to see her out on those rocks! Reaching her arms out in the air as he made the leap over to her. Their energy and excitement even stopped a tour group in their tracks as they were meandering along the pathway! Their first look encapsulates the feeling that surrounded their entire wedding day. So much excitement, happiness and fun! Another beautiful weekend with family and friends on Prout’s but one that I am sure they will never forget the feeling of.
The Barn on Walnut Hill was the perfect location for Becky and Jack’s laid back wedding weekend. The two said their “I do’s” on a Friday evening surrounded by their families and in the presence of their dog Sammi (with an “I”) of course! Saturday, then, was left open to party it up with all of their guests and just enjoy. Both days were filled with so much love and joy for the couple and it couldn’t have been more obvious that everyone was having a blast. Who wouldn’t love two days of cocktails, lawn games, beautifully prepared food, and great company?! Congratulations Becky and Jack!…Oh, and Sammi of course!
A boat get away post ceremony, an antler chandelier hung in the Sperry Tent, Moscow Mule’s served in a copper mug, the ceremony rain plan and a dog named Bunny. Just a few of my favorite things from Kristin and Andrew’s Kennebunkport, Maine wedding!
But honestly it was the people that made this day what it was. (and a well seasoned catering and event planning staff to initiate the rain plan!) From Kristin’s Mom trying to “lock it down” when getting teary eyed watching her daughter placing her veil on to the fun filled dance Andrew shared with his mom there was nothing but excitement and happiness around every corner.
We couldn’t be happier for you Kristin and Andrew and hope we see you at the mountain this winter!
It’s hard to believe it’s winter in Maine with lack of snow in our backyards. While daydreaming about Nordic Skiing we couldn’t help but revisit this styled shoot we photographed at the Barn at Flanagan’s Farm. Meagan Gilpatrick from Maine Seasons Events put together a cozy nordic inspired table setting perfect for a Maine Winter Wedding.
It’s that time of year again, Maine Magazine’s wedding issue has hit stands and we are so excited to have our work featured again! The publication chose to feature Julianne and Sam’s barn wedding at Shady Lane Farm in New Gloucester, Maine. The day was full of absolutely stunning details that echoed the couples personal style. Selecting a great team of vendors sure does make for an amazing day and for this Maine wedding it all came together just right! Be sure to check out the full magazine spreads below! Tucked just a few short miles away from the beach and the village of Kennebunkport is Hidden Pond. It’s a stunning wooded property and home to the well known restaurant Earth. If you have had the pleasure of visiting the property you can see why it’s the perfect venue for a celebration! Laura and Jake recited their vows on the forest edge right near the property’s own farm. Cocktails were held in the nearby flower gardens, dinner and dancing in the event barn and an afterparty at Earth!
Their day was so warm, cozy and inviting in every way. Even the clear tent where guests dined was filled with soft light and a cozy nook for snuggling or chats. And what better way to end the night than warm doughnut holes around the fire! Laura and Jake we wish you all the best in the years to come and many more nights around the fire with your loved ones… and doughnut holes… lots of warm doughnut holes!
A beautiful garden with towering sunflowers and a gorgeous mountain scape played backdrop to Will and Lorlette’s New Hampshire wedding. Family and friends gathered at Will’s parents’ home from all over the globe. We love how they infused Lorlette’s Jamaican heritage into the day with rum punch and wedding cake favors, a tradition in Jamaican weddings. Showcasing the beauty of New England while treating guests to some Jamaican flavor with food and drink made the day feel so personal. A wonderful mix from the bride and groom! If there was one thing that everyone seemed to enjoy the most it was the dance floor! Young and old danced together in celebration of this amazing couple joining together. I could hardly keep up! Lorlette and Will, we hope you keep dancing your way through life together surrounded by the love that was all around you on your wedding day! Cheers to you both!
With rain all week the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for Karen and David’s wedding day. Guests met in Portland to board the ferry boat Bay Mist which took them through Casco Bay passing Spring Point Lighthouse where David proposed to Karen and Willard Beach where Karen’s family has a beach house. The day proceeded in Island fashion with a get away golf cart decorated with a sign reading “just married”, dinner and drinks overlooking the ocean at the Inn on Peaks Island, and ending with a sunset even locals couldn’t resist the urge to snap photos of. Karen and David definitely planned a day family and friends won’t soon forget! Cheers to you both!
Set high above the entrance to the Kennebec River is the home of Xiaohong and Warren. The perfect spot for an intimate ceremony and celebration! Maine has a way of slowing you down and bringing you back to basics. Beach towels hung out to dry, binoculars out to see what birds are flying by and boardgames in progress on the coffee table. This celebration was the perfect summer day in Maine!
