Making a grand entrance just as you’ve said “I do” is something most couples think about while planning their wedding, they make good photo ops, everyone is cheering and smiling because they’re ready to celebrate your new union; but have you thought about your exit at the end of the night? Ensuring that the coverage of your wedding photography includes the end of the night is important if you’re planning a fun exit! Sparklers are a great exit option; everyone gets excited, lines up and cheers you on just as they did earlier – what a great way to round out your wedding day! Along with sparkler exits, there are numerous things you could do, but some of our most favorite from the last few years are the boat exits! Sparklers not your style? Perhaps you’re not getting married by the sea? We had a couple this year end the night with a food truck! So fun and so delicious – something that your guests will definitely enjoy!
The FINAL part to Amanda and Vincent’s Nantucket wedding weekend takes place at the Great Harbor Yacht club, a spectacular waterfront venue for Nantucket weddings. The fog continued to roll in as guests left the cocktail tent and entered the interior of the club for dinner and dancing. After a phenomenal first dance guests were seated for a series of toasts during the first course. I have photographed so many amazing weddings and toasts but when Amanda’s sister surprised everyone by singing “La vie en rose” in French with the band, it was like nothing I have ever seen. The energy in the room, the emotion, the excitement, love and happiness just engulfed everyone as they stood listening. (Be sure to watch their wedding film at the bottom of the post to get the full story.) Goosebumps!!! It blew EVERYONE away!
Their reception was a true celebration. Filled with thoughtful toasts, singing, dancing and laughter. Amanda and Vincent kicked off their married life with gusto!
The film that Meg Simone created brings me right back to the wedding day! I love seeing the brides sister sing at the reception, hear the words the newlyweds whisper as they take a moment alone after the ceremony and of course hear their story! A must watch!!
This Nantucket wedding weekend continued with Amanda and Vincent’s vows at the charming Sconset Chapel. A tiny little wedding chapel on the East end of the island that has an intimate feel. Amanda and Vincent smiled, laughed and held hands through their vows. As they kissed the guests cheered loudly with such excitement! One of my favorite moments was when the new Mr. and Mrs. exited the Chapel doors and scooted off to the side entrance, alone as husband and wife, hugging and taking in the moment. If you look closely at the photo of the Chapel facade you will see the happy couple off to the right as their guests are exiting the front of the Chapel. This is also a favorite part of mine in their wedding film because you can HEAR what they are saying to one another! Such cherished moments!!
After Amanda & Vincent zoomed away in their aptly decorated get away car, we met for a few portraits in the fog. A passerby called it “mystical” and that is exactly what it felt like as they walked down the crushed shell path through the cottages. Nantucket is the “Grey Lady” for a reason!
For their reception we were off to the Great Harbor Yacht Club where Dawn Kelly from Soiree Floral infused touches of France into the table tops with sprigs of lavender and the traditional blue table numbers. An ode to Vincent’s French heritage and the time the happy couple spent together there. I just love it when couples celebrate their history together when planning their wedding details! This wedding had so many perfectly planned details and amazing moments! I want to share them all, so I think that a part 3 blog post is in order!
