Earlier this year I had to absolute pleasure of photographing my dear friend and colleague, Sara of Sara Fitz in her cozy coastal home currently featured in Yankee Magazine. While all the credit goes too Sara for creating the subjects that photograph so beautifully, I can’t help but to get a little giddy seeing my name and photos in print and thinking. “I made that.” In case you aren’t in the local Yankee Magazine distribution area, I’ll give you a sneak peek. Click here if you’d like to check out the full article to learn more about Sara and see additional photos.
It’s that time of year again, Maine Magazine’s wedding issue has hit stands and we are so excited to have our work featured again! The publication chose to feature Julianne and Sam’s barn wedding at Shady Lane Farm in New Gloucester, Maine. The day was full of absolutely stunning details that echoed the couples personal style. Selecting a great team of vendors sure does make for an amazing day and for this Maine wedding it all came together just right! Be sure to check out the full magazine spreads below! It can be difficult to find a wedding venue that encompasses all that Maine has to offer: beautiful coastline, thick wooded forests, bright colored buoys, lobster boats speckling the shore, and that’s just to name a few things! We were thrilled when Real Maine Weddings Magazine invited us to be the photographers for their styled photoshoot featuring bridal gowns, flowers, and jewelry that can all be found right here in Maine! We headed out to Sebasco having never visited before and couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised! After arriving at Sebasco Harbor Resort it was quite clear why this place would make the perfect Maine wedding destination. It seems to have it all! We are so excited to share the featured magazine spreads from the photo shoot that can be found in the current issue of Real Maine Weddings Magazine! But be sure to take a look at the amazing behind the scenes footage filmed by Matt Forcier of LMV Productions. It’s a hard working team that makes this look so good!
Maine is a pretty spectacular place to get married. With it’s many, many… MANY coastal communities the seaside location options are endless! When Real Maine Weddings magazine asked us to head North to Bar Harbor to photograph their special gown section for the current issue we couldn’t get on the road fast enough! Bar Harbor is not only a great place to visit but the trip up is pretty fun too! We cruised up route 1 stopping to hit our favorite flea markets, antique shops and lunch spots of course! (If you’ve ever made the trip you know what we are talking about.) Once there you realize it’s so much more than just a coastal town with quaint streets, top notch restaurants and unique artists. It’s hiking, biking, boating and sightseeing! It’s one coastal town not to be missed.
Real Maine Weddings magazine puts together two publications each year and in each issue you can find a special section dedicated to stunning gowns found right here in Maine. We have been lucky enough to work with this team in the past photographing gowns and are thrilled to share our shoot from Bar Harbor. We got SO lucky with amazing Spring weather and took advantage of all that this picturesque part of the State has to offer. There is a lot of inspiration to share from this all day shoot so let’s start with what’s in the current issue of Real Maine Weddings. You can find it on shelves right now so be sure to pick one up or order a copy online.
We’re kicking off the month of March with a lovely feature from Maine. magazine! Every February they release their “Wedding Issue” and we’re so grateful to see our work showcased on it’s pages again this year!
Our Real Wedding feature is from J and Suzi’s Kennebunkport wedding from last summer (see our blog post on their wedding here) – the navy and white color palette with small touches of red were perfect for their coastal Kennebunkport, Maine reception. We loved her sparkly Jimmy Choos and the preppy and fun striped straws at cocktail hour but having their celebration at her families long time summer home made if feel so personal. What a wonderful way to celebrate with family and friends!
We worked alongside some amazing Maine/New Hampshire wedding vendors, too!
We’re excited to be back again today to share some more press from WellWed Magazine!
On stands now, the second issue of Maine + New Hampshire features a few of our wonderful couples and a sweet little inspiration shoot!
We spy shots from the Maine apple orchard wedding of Belinda and Jeff and the coastal Maine clambake wedding of Kelly and Luke! Not to be missed is the colorful real wedding feature from Emily and Jeff’s Cape Elizabeth, Maine wedding. Bold colors and personal touches made their wedding so special. Visit all their full blog posts to read more about their Maine Weddings and get inspired for your own day.
If you crave that campy fireside feel be sure to check out the inspiration shoot we photographed at Hidden Pond in Kennebunk, Maine. Audrey from Azalea Events and Michelle from Blooms Flowers Shoppe created one of the coziest tables I have ever seen! With elements of faux fur and leather you just want to nestle in for a seasonal meal and enjoy the warmth of the lush table!
Now get out there and pick up a copy! And if you missed it, here’s our post from last week about the gown shoot we had the pleasure of photographing for this issue.
We love an excuse to travel and see new places. So, when WellWed Magazine asked us if we wanted to come to their Vermont headquarters this past fall to shoot for their next issue, we couldn’t pack our bags fast enough. Not only was it the most picturesque time of the year to be driving to Vermont but was also unseasonably warm. We arrived at their AMAZING mill building offices to see models and dresses and props from all of our favorite shoots… and shoots to come! We also got the treat of actually meeting the wonderful people behind the names and voices we e-mail and chat with! We had no idea going into the day what the outcome would be but we knew it was going to be amazing!
Fast forward till now and here it is! The very first issue of WellWed Maine + New Hampshire! It’s on stands now, with a cover shot we snapped during our apple orchard shoot!! We worked with the WellWed team to shoot a fall story while fellow photographer Barrie Fisher was working on shooting the winter story. She was kind enough to photograph Heidi and I in action so now you can see how this shot came together. A little odd to see what we look like while shooting but still fun! I always love the behind the scenes shots! thanks so much for these Barrie!
It’s time to start thinking about your Maine wedding plans and one of my favorite local publications Maine. has just come out with their 2012 wedding issue! When asked, we jumped at the chance to collaborate with this creative group of wedding pro’s to create a featured inspiration shoot for the issue. With a team that included attire from Madeleine’s Daughter, Design and flowers from Beautiful Days, custom paper from Gus & Ruby Letterpress and the most mouth watering sweets from Aurora Provisions how could anyone go wrong!!!! And what better location than Portland’s own waterfront venue The Portland Company, not your average waterfront spot!
Inspired by a 40’s pinup style our favorite hair and make-up team of Joya Beauty and Hair that Moves created glamor with our models. There is so much more to see from this shoot so be sure to check out the film from Meg Simone that shows off behind the scenes action and scoop from the team on how we put together all these design details.
Congratulations to one of our happy couples of 2010, Fatemeh and Suanne , on their current feature in Boston Weddings! Their September wedding in Bar Harbor was heartfelt, intimate and SO beautiful! It was a perfect fall day in Maine and they celebrated in style.
You can view more photos of their day and read their story online at Boston Weddings.
Ah Spring! I think it may have finally sprung a bit here in New England. Fiddle-heads are starting to emerge from the ground and buds are popping on nearly everything. I feel like mother nature is taking a big stretch from her winter slumber right now and everything is about to wake up renewed and fresh.
A talented group of wedding professionals took their design ques from this very moment to create the following shoot for Well Wed magazine. I truly enjoy working on shoots like this. I don’t often get to see the creative process of other vendors in action or get to chat through ideas with them as I do in these types of shoots. Seeing how Dawn Kelly from Soiree Floral used non-floral elements to create her bouquet and some of her table elements blew me away! I didn’t even see it at first glance but when I did I couldn’t believe it! How fun to incorporate mushrooms and hand made cabbage rosettes into a bridal bouquet!
You can see several of the images in the current issue of Well Wed Cape & Islands but I had to blog a few of my personal favorites!
