Excited to see Kristin and Andrew’s Kennebunkport wedding featured on the pages of Maine Magazines’ wedding issue!!! Always a treat to see our couples’ weddings in print or featured on-line. If this has you itching to see more from their crazy beautiful wedding weekend visit our website here!
This week started off with a snow day here in Maine and looking back on this gorgeous sunny fall day warmed us right up! Maddy and John’s Prouts Neck wedding was filled with so many amazing moments you might want to grab a warm mug and snuggle in for this blog post! (If you haven’t yet seen their rehearsal dinner be sure to check that out too!)
Prouts Neck is a special little spot on the coast of Maine. It’s always a treat to photograph weddings there; it feels so intimate, tucked away from the hustle and bustle and just a touch more relaxing for everyone. There is just an ease with everything being so close together. Some guests ride their bikes to the little chapel and Maddy and John both walked to the ceremony with their wedding attendants! There is a bit more time to enjoy, breathe and soak in the day out on “the neck”, I love that! And that is just what this couple did! The smiles on their faces say it all… getting ready, first look, ceremony, ride to the reception, hugs at cocktail hour, dancing and toasts. And that is exactly why I love photographing weddings. It’s about joy like this! The excitement filled the room (how cute is Maddy’s Mom!?!?!) and I am just guessing, but I bet everyone in attendance had sore cheeks the next day.
For so many of our couples the rehearsal dinner is so much more than a dinner with your family and wedding party. It’s a time to celebrate, connect, reminisce and toast the couple before their big day! It’s also a wonderful time to capture photographs of your nearest and dearest as you welcome them to your wedding weekend! Photographing rehearsal dinners is a treat for us as we get to know more about family, friends and even a bit more about our couples during toasts!
Maddy and John kicked off their wedding weekend at the Prout’s Neck Yacht Club with their wedding party and family. A quick windy portrait on the dock, candid captures of welcoming hugs, lots of laughs and happy tears during dinner toasts all took place that night and we were so thrilled to capture it all for them.
It’s finally starting to feel (and look) like winter here in Maine!
We think the quiet moments of your wedding day can be some of the most beautiful.
When I arrive at the Newagen Seaside Inn to photograph a wedding I always arrive a few minutes early so I can take a nice walk around the property. It’s one of my most favorite venues! Guests are enjoying cocktails outside on the deck, jumping off the dock into the ocean for a quick dip, walking a trail or riding bikes around the property. It’s truly a treat to see everyone so relaxed and enjoying all that Maine has to offer! When I arrived for Jill and Alex’s wedding and was taking my walk all I could hear was laughter coming from a cottage that overlooked the water. It was Jill and her amazing crew of ladies getting ready for the big day! It echoed over the property and set the tone for the entire day! Their wedding day was a long time coming but it was well worth the wait! A sunshine filled day on the coast of Maine with cocktails, a bonfire, ceremony overlooking the ocean, dancing well past sunset and hugs, cheers and laughter for everyone there. I hope all your days are filled with this much love Jill and Alex! Cheers to you!
These two know how to kick off their Wedding reception with a BANG!
When you hand your bridal party the mic for a toast, what they say always ends up being unpredictable!
The dress was fitted, the menu was set, the invites were sent, all for this moment here: MARRIED!
