When I arrive at the Newagen Seaside Inn to photograph a wedding I always arrive a few minutes early so I can take a nice walk around the property. It’s one of my most favorite venues! Guests are enjoying cocktails outside on the deck, jumping off the dock into the ocean for a quick dip, walking a trail or riding bikes around the property. It’s truly a treat to see everyone so relaxed and enjoying all that Maine has to offer! When I arrived for Jill and Alex’s wedding and was taking my walk all I could hear was laughter coming from a cottage that overlooked the water. It was Jill and her amazing crew of ladies getting ready for the big day! It echoed over the property and set the tone for the entire day! Their wedding day was a long time coming but it was well worth the wait! A sunshine filled day on the coast of Maine with cocktails, a bonfire, ceremony overlooking the ocean, dancing well past sunset and hugs, cheers and laughter for everyone there. I hope all your days are filled with this much love Jill and Alex! Cheers to you!
These two know how to kick off their Wedding reception with a BANG!
When you hand your bridal party the mic for a toast, what they say always ends up being unpredictable!
The dress was fitted, the menu was set, the invites were sent, all for this moment here: MARRIED!
Stop. Soak it in. Summer is still here… breathe the salt air and hold on to it tight.
Last May Real Maine Weddings Magazine invited us to venture over to Chebeague Island Inn to photograph looks for their bridal fashion feature. We were obviously thrilled and super excited for some island time with a great team! The Inn really hits the nail on the head when it comes to that understated coastal Maine experience. From the sprawling porch to the cozy stone fireplace and then of course their jaw dropping sunsets, the Inn is a dream for shooting. The sandy beach is also a popular location to visit on island and Beehive Creative took advantage of the low tide to create a stunning ceremony spot, we couldn’t be any happier to see it on the COVER! Want to see the team in action and get a glimpse into how all these photos came to life? Be sure to watch the film that Matt Forcier of LMV Productions created from our day on Chebeague! And of course… look for this cover on newsstands now!
In the Fall of 2014 Jill and Donal’s Fall wedding at the Barn at Flanagan’s Farm was the perfect way to wrap up our wedding season. A gorgeous sunset ceremony, hot cider and cozy blankets, perfectly thought out details, and a curtain of sparkling twinkle lights were just a few of our favorite things about their celebration. We were so excited to have this wedding featured on The Knot’s website giving us a great excuse to take a look back at this amazing day working with a great team and to celebrate a lovely couple.
Meet Sara, Miles and their adorable boys! We spent a little time together on Parson’s Beach in Kennebunk this Spring taking a few casual family portraits. I have had the pleasure of working with Sara on many photography projects but being able to photograph her family was by far my favorite! She is the artists behind Sara Fitz, a watercolor stationery studio based in York, Maine. Her work is classically New England in style and is highly coveted in the wedding world for her amazing invitation sets. She recently relaunched the company with her husband after a short break to spend time raising her boys and I was able to photograph all of her new designs, her gorgeous studio and her family for the website relaunch! (more on all of that in another blog post) Today I wanted to share their family beach session. It’s so important to keep sessions easy for the kids making time to play, explore, and just be themselves! It’s at the heart of what we love about beach portraits!
First looks are a personal favorite of mine to photograph but when Libby and Brandon said they wanted to see each other before their Prout’s Neck wedding ceremony out on Canon Rock I was instantly trying to figure out how that was all going to come together! Libby has spent her life running the pathway to the rocks and knew the perfect spot… even hopping down a little rock stairway of sorts to get out there. She was so excited to see Brandon when he emerged from the path to see her out on those rocks! Reaching her arms out in the air as he made the leap over to her. Their energy and excitement even stopped a tour group in their tracks as they were meandering along the pathway! Their first look encapsulates the feeling that surrounded their entire wedding day. So much excitement, happiness and fun! Another beautiful weekend with family and friends on Prout’s but one that I am sure they will never forget the feeling of.
Sunset on Prout’s Neck.
Elizabeth and Brandon’s full wedding coming soon to the blog!
